2016 Reading Challenge

The Hawkins Area Library invites all children ages 0-18 to participate in our 2016 Reading Challenge. The rules are simple. Stop in at the library, fill out a free library card if you don’t already have one, and pick up a progress sheet for the appropriate age category: 0-8, 9-12, and 13-18. All those who complete the challenges for their age group by August 15, 2016, will receive a prize bag and be entered into a drawing for a gift basket.  Participants are welcome to start anytime.

The 2016 Reading Challenge ends August 15, 2016.

The Bethel Lutheran Church Women-Hawkins are collectiong medicine containers with locking covers to be forwarded to Malawi, Africa. A wicker basket to collect containers is located in the lobby by the water fountains.

Drop-Off Site: Please support The Lions Club as they collect unwanted glasses and hearing aids to help others. 

Cell Phones for Soldiers: Drop off your used cell phones which will be turned in for phone cards for soldiers deployed away from home.

Special Note to Parents:

The Library Board has revised our internet policy for anyone under 18, you will need to stop in and sign a new permission card. We will also be issuing new library cards for children.
